The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has launched a brand new way to study for the CIPR's top qualification.
It's the first time a professional PR qualification has been made available online, enabling students the flexibility to study at a time, pace and place to suit them.
The course will be taught via online learning resources, including social media, such as webinars, chat, blogs, wikis. In addition, there will be an assignment submitting and pick-up up facility, using the latest e-learning technology. As well as working online and with email support from a personal tutor there are two full day face-to-face lecture and workshop sessions.
CIPR director general Colin Farrington said: "The CIPR Diploma qualification is recognised by the industry as a demonstration of outstanding public relations skills. As leader of the UK's PR industry, the CIPR is committed to raising professional standards. We also lead in the methods we use to deliver training opportunities. The use of advanced technology and new media as a learning tool puts the course in the vanguard of PR industry qualifications.
"Flexibility is key. The Online Diploma offers public relations practitioners the opportunity to develop professionally and to become more qualified, regardless of work commitments and geography. It also enables students to become more proficient in the full range of communication tools they will be using in their day jobs."
